A. Victorian Tea
Kids will dress up in the Museum’s children’s pioneer
costumes and explore Henry House. They will see how a
Victorian family lived in the 1870’s and play parlour games
in Thomas and Lurenda Henry’s front parlour. A costumed
interpreter will teach them how to sew and the kids will
each take home their creation. Back in the Guy House
Boardroom they will review Victorian etiquette and
manners.
B. Digging Up the Past (Archaeology)
The party will travel to the Grandview Archaeology Gallery in Robinson House
and learn what it is really like to be an archaeologist. They will see artifacts from
the Lake Ontario Iroquois that date back as far as 1400 A.D. and a model
longhouse that depicts how they lived. They will use these artifacts as examples
when sculpting their own clay pot. Finally, they will complete a mock dig and see
if they can find any artifacts!
C. Pirate Pandemonium
Yo, ho, yo, ho! Kids can dress up in their own pirate
costumes and will discover the Golden Age of pirates
in Robinson House! We will make our own Jolly
Roger pirate flags and map out some secret treasure
while learning to talk like real pirates!
E. Wands & Wizards
In this wizard-themed party, your guests may come dressed as
their favourite wizarding character. The kids will visit the
Museum’s Mercurial Wand Shop and the Bewitching
Bookshop in Robinson House where they will make wizard
wands and spell books, which they will get to take home. We’ll
also write out some spells and potions in our spell books.
